ABOUT THE FIRM
Independent analysis of oil and gas assets.
Whipstock Engineering, LLC prepares independent appraisals, evaluations, and engineering analysis of oil and gas mineral, overriding royalty, and working interests.
The work is scoped to the facts and the decision they have to support. The intended use is set first. The report is built from there.
Most clients are individual owners, trusts, family entities, and the CPAs and attorneys who work with them. The same engineering is used when the assignment is larger or the file is incomplete.
The technical foundation is per-well decline-curve analysis, area-of-interest geology, operator activity review, and discounted cash-flow modeling, with explicit treatment of development potential and risk. Reports are documented so the result can be used for tax reporting, estate or gift planning, investment decisions, or other professional purposes.
The work often includes mixed holdings, entity transfers, incomplete history, and competing narratives about undeveloped locations. A rule of thumb is not a substitute for that file. If the holding is smaller or the facts are cleaner, the same method still applies — the assignment is just scoped to match.
